Bodywork

An effective human being is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. – Ida Rolf

It’s not how deep you go, it’s how you go deep. – Ida Rolf

Cranio is an ever evolving study of the human experience, and that makes it alive.

– Etienne Peirsman

Cranio is giving space to someone’s being to express itself totally. – Etienne Peirsman

The body is solid material wrapped around the breath. – Ida Rolf

Alchemy Bodywork

When the body works with gravity to find realignment, comfort will increase and pain will decrease, naturally.

I believe the body is an access point to a whole being. Finding flow, spaciousness, and ease in the physical form impacts everything else... the animation of breath and freedom of movement become a threshold and invitation to to remember your true nature and live as your fully expressed self.

By facilitating the relationship between the human body and the experience of its environment, listening to the body’s inner voice and innate wisdom, and allowing for the body's natural organization, change of fundamental importance can happen resulting in deep and lasting health and a sense of personal wellbeing.

The backbone of my work comes from Structural Integration (The Rolf Method), which lends its wisdom of how the body moves within the field of gravity, and Craniosacral bodywork which encourages deep presence and listening, along with my own lifetime of movement, mindfulness, and devotional practices.

The healing process is unique to each person. The offering is guidance and support that is incredibly gentle, and remarkably powerful.

Craniosacral

Craniosacral

A way of holding body and bones to call forth your life force

Craniosacral bodywork is a way of holding the bones with awareness so the connective tissue and muscles, and other less obvious layers, can relax and unwind and heal.

It is a healing method that connects the physical, emotional and spiritual where intuition, insight and perception are equally important. Craniosacral bodywork relies on listening to the cerebrospinal fluids – the pulse of energy that flows between our head and pelvis along the shape of the spine – addressing the rhythmic system at the core of our physiology. Holding the bones affects the cerebrospinal fluids and thereby the deeper layers of membranes, the brain, and the spinal cord itself, and helps the body re-establish an unobstructed wave, which is how symptoms disappear. If we dare to be still enough to listen to this tide of the cranial wave, answers can be revealed/discovered. Through systemic perception a broader picture is revealed, and what lies in the unconscious, or waiting, is brought to light. With presence and respect for the resistance, and without any fuss, we get to the core of the problem through the body, where heart and mind and spirit are aligned. While it’s been called “mysterious”, craniosacral bodywork is as essential, measurable, and tangible as our breath and heart rate. Craniosacral is effective for head, neck, and back pain including the jaw and joint stiffness, as well as headaches and migraines. It’s for people of all ages, even infants and toddlers, and can also boost health and immunity, improve muscle and organ function, relieve life stress and tension in the central nervous system, and impact your overall mood. In a craniosacral bodywork session you might feel a quieting down, a sinking in, and a deeper awareness. At times the places of touch may not seem to relate directly to the area(s) of discomfort or pain. By providing support, a message can be input into the system and translate to the impacted area, quite surprisingly and beautifully. What you might expect: • Feeling a deep sense of relaxation • Recalling memories and dreams • Strong sensations in your body • Less tension in your nervous system • Ongoing and lasting effects If you have any questions, please contact me. And if you feel ready to receive nourishing support, book your session. To your wellbeing!

Structural Integration

A re-education of the body through touch and movement

By facilitating the relationship between the human body and gravity and listening to the body’s innate wisdom, changes of fundamental importance can happen resulting in longer lasting health and personal growth, and overall wellbeing.

Structural Integration, also known as “Rolfing”, is an educational process established by Dr. Ida P. Rolf that addresses how the human body relates to and operates within gravity with an intention to release patterns of holding or strain to restore balance, comfort, and function of movement. Who benefits: • People of all ages and backgrounds • Athletes, dancers, artists, musicians • Yoga and meditation practitioners • Business people and professionals • Those with chronic pain or stress Sessions are designed sequentially to mobilize the facia – the layer of connective tissue that encases the muscles, viscera, and bones. Working together with specific goals, the fascia is lengthened and repositioned through deep touch, thereby creating spaciousness and balance in the muscles, joint system, and the entire body. What you might expect: • Enhanced vitality, flexibility, and energy • Greater range and ease of movement • Improved performance potential • Less stress and relief from pain • Ongoing and lasting effects If you have any questions, please contact me. And if you're ready to feel better and address habitual holding patterns or issues, book your session. To your health!

Sessions with Jennifer

Unwinding progresses with respect for the body’s process and pace

Jennifer is currently accepting new clients.

After a few minutes to check in, or a body reading, you will lie comfortably on a massage table.

Using light touch to connect initially, Jennifer will learn your body’s energy and determine where to begin a series of gentle holds or tissue manipulations with some possible movement cues to initiate the process of release.

Moving slowly and employing the premise that less is more, as tension patterns and restrictions unwind, you may experience moments of intensity followed by a feeling of deep relaxation, relief, and ease.  Sessions end with time to integrate and share anything significant, along with some possible movement cues, before you transition into the rest of your day. Craniosacral bodywork is done fully clothed while underwear or a bathing suit is requested for Structural Integration to allow access to the facia and specific visible landmarks. It is most important to be relaxed in what you are wearing since we may be working in various sitting and lying down positions during your session (to be determined by the direction of the work for what is desired and deemed most beneficial). Initial visits last 75 minutes. Return sessions last about 55-65 minutes.
